Guidelines

  1. All coaches (head and assistant) must be approved by the Cartersville Parks and Recreation Department (CPRD) and will be under the supervision of CPRD during all practices and games. Must abide by the rules and guidelines set by CPRD. All coaches and assistants are expected to always conduct themselves in a proper manner.
  2. All spectators and parents must stay off the practice/game area.
  3. All injuries must be reported to the gym/field supervisor or a CPRD staff member immediately.
  4. Any coach mistreating a child (physically or verbally) will be dismissed immediately. The CPRD will be responsible for the suspension or even suspension/termination of any coach who violates their privileges.
  5. Coaches will not require his/her team to purchase any additional equipment or clothing.
  6. The goal of our athletic programs is to teach the fundamentals of the sport being played. Teach sportsmanship and have fun. Winning and losing are part of sports, however, winning should NEVER be placed above providing a safe and fun recreational environment for all.
  7. If you or your assistant coach cannot be at practice or a game, notify CPRD staff and we will make the decision on canceling the practice/game or whether to have a CPRD staff member attend. Do not leave your team unattended at practices.
  8. Coaches are not allowed to schedule any games without CPRD approval.
  9. All participants will be “drafted” on a team from a prepared list of all registered participants. Children are not permitted at any CPRD draft.
  10. Coaches should contact players about missing practices, changing practice sites, times, etc.
  11. Coaches are prohibited from trading participants once the draft is finalized.
