Cartersville Cobias Swim Team
** Swim Team Registration opens April 1, 2024 **
The Cobias is a competitive swim team, intended for those who, as a minimum, know the basic swimming strokes. While it is not a venue for learning to swim, it is one for improving technique, speed, endurance, and competition. The Cobias is a Georgia Recreation and Parks Association summer league team. There are typically 4-5 regular meets and a district and state meet during the season. All swimmers regardless of skill level are invited to participate in the meets.
Swim team participation involves a major commitment from the swimmer and the parents. Practice is 4-5 times per week in addition to a meet. The season will begin in May and end with the state swim meet (for qualifiers) in July.
Swimmers must be a Bartow County resident to compete in the District/State Swim Meets with the Cartersville Cobias.

Registration Fee:
- Ages: 6u & 8u: $120
- Ages: 10u & up: $140
Non-Resident Fee: $20 (if applicable)
Season: May-July
Tryout Dates: (new participants only): Saturday, April 13 or 27, 2024
Time: 2-4pm, drop in - appointment not necessary
Location: Senior Aquatic Center, 1155 Douthit Ferry Road, Cartersville GA 30120
Parent Informational Meeting (mandatory): Monday, May 6, 6pm, (Location TBA)
First Practice: Tuesday, May 7, 2024
Practice Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday

GRPA 5th District Meet: Saturday, June 29, 2024, Dalton GA
GRPA State Swim Meet: Friday & Saturday, July 19-20, 2024, Columbus GA
Registration Fee includes: Team t-shirt and Team swim cap. Registration Fee does not include travel expenses, swimsuit & equipment fees, district entry fees, or state entry fees.
