Advantage Home Program

Home Advantage

The Gas Advantage Home Program is a co-operative program between Cartersville Gas System and Southern Natural Gas. This program is designed to increase both the annual system thru-put and the summer load factor of the Cartersville Gas System. These increases will result in lower gas costs for all the firm customers of the Cartersville Gas System. For the homebuilder to participate in the Gas Advantage Home Program, the following criteria must be met:
 

Construction Standards

All construction shall comply with the Southern Building Code.
 

Appliance Requirements

All natural gas appliances shall be AGA Design Certified and installation shall comply with the Southern Building Code and any other applicable codes. All gas logs, gas fireplaces and gas fireplace inserts shall be vented as necessary.
 

Conditions and Limitations

Each Gas Advantage Home must have the following installed:

• gas heating
• water heating
• a third gas appliance installed or gas piping stubbed for a third appliance which may be one of the following:
  • gas heating
  • water heating
  • a third gas appliance installed or gas piping stubbed for a third appliance which may be one of the following:
    • cooking range
    • clothes dryer
    • fireplace logs (starters do not qualify)
    • gas light ( mantle or open flame)
