City of Cartersville Welcomes New Electric Director, Tom McKee

 

The City of Cartersville is excited to announce the appointment of Tom McKee as the new Electric Director. McKee brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in the utility industry, particularly in electrical distribution, generation, and transmission.

 

Tom McKee joins us from the City of Lake Worth Beach, FL, where he served as Utility Services Manager, and Materials Management Manager. During his tenure, he led significant improvements in energy conservation, distribution, and revenue protection. His innovative approach and commitment to efficiency have resulted in substantial advancements and cost savings.

 

City Manager, Dan Porta, remarked, "We are thrilled to welcome Tom McKee to our team. His extensive experience and leadership in the utility industry will be invaluable as we continue to enhance our electric services and infrastructure."

 

McKee also spent a decade of his career with American Electric Power (AEP), where he held positions such as Engineering Technologist, Materials Management Supervisor, and Hydroelectric and Solar Power Plant Mechanic. These roles have equipped him with the perfect background to lead our crews, demonstrating his expertise in inventory management, emergent demand planning, technical project oversight, and multi-site operations leadership.

 

McKee has studied at Indiana State University, Indiana University South Bend, Ivy Tech Community College and holds numerous professional certifications from US DOT, FAA, American Red Cross, and OSHA.
