PUBLIC NOTICE
REVISION TO CHARTER AND ADOPTION OF NEW WARD BOUNDARY MAP
FOR ELECTIONS FOR THE CITY OF CARTERSVILLE

Whereas, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Cartersville, at its regularly scheduled meeting on March 17, 2022, at 7:00 p.m., City Council Chambers, 3rd Floor, City Hall, 10 North Public Square, Cartersville, Georgia 30120, will hold a public hearing and a First Reading, and on April 7, 2022, a public hearing and Second Reading on an amendment to the Charter, as detailed herein. 

This Amendment is as follows:

CHARTER AMENDMENT NO. 01-22

(1)    To amend City of Cartersville Charter, Article VII.  Elections.  Section 7.02. – Wards; Ward residency requirements; elections at large from the 1980 United States Decennial Census to the 2020 United States Decennial Census.

(2)    And to adopt a new Section 7.08. Ward boundaries. Based upon the new Ward Boundary Map of the City of Cartersville.

A copy of the Charter Amendment and Ward Boundary Map is available for public review at the City Clerk’s Office, City of Cartersville, City Hall, 10 North Public Square, 2nd Floor, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.  An additional copy is on file at the Office of the Bartow County Clerk of Superior Court, Frank Moore Administration and Judicial Center, 135 West Cherokee Avenue, Suite 233, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.
