Citizen Survey Results

The City of Cartersville, under contract with the National Research Center (NRC), completed a citizen survey in the Spring of 2011.  The survey was randomly mailed to 1,200 households. Completed surveys were received from 330 residents, for a response rate of 30%.  Typical response rates obtained on citizen surveys conducted by the National Research Center range from 25% to 40%.  NRC has recorded, analyzed and stored responses from approximately 500 jurisdictions whose residents have evaluated local government services and shared their opinion about the quality of community life.  The City of Cartersville chose to have comparisons made to the entire database, therefore, NRC is able to compare results both in the South and nationwide.  In addition, this year’s results can be compared to Cartersville’s previous survey results.
